As a homeschooling parent, you know how busy life can be. Planning, prepping, teaching, grading, field trips, park days, co-ops, group meetings – and that’s just for homeschooling. Throw in being a single parent responsible for all the cooking, cleaning, discipline, rewards, and everything else, add a child or two with ADHD, and top it off with work that takes up a number of hours in your day, and it can get exhausting.
As a writer, my work is a bit less restricted as it is for others. I can set my own schedule, my own hours – but I also have to find my own motivation. I keep this blog, and also one related to my writing, and have to find time and motivation to work on them, too.
We’ve had a lot of birthdays, anniversaries and other things going on this month, and as we all know, the holidays are fast approaching. In trying to find time this weekend to fit blogging and some other things into my schedule this week, I realized that I can’t keep going like this. I have to find something, somewhere, that can be crossed off the schedule.
I’ve concluded that, for the time being, I need to blog less. I love blogging, but I also want to make sure that what I blog about is useful, informative, and quality. Blogging twice a week isn’t allowing me to do that – at least, I don’t feel I’m doing that. I feel like I’m rushing to come up with ideas, write them, edit them, and get things ready.
I’m not going to stop blogging completely, but I am going to cut back to once a week and see how that goes. Hopefully, that will be enough to help me feel less pressured in my schedule, and allow me to provide you with posts to read that will actually be enjoyable and helpful to you. I’m not sure which day I’ll be posting, but I will stick with either Tuesday or Thursday.
I appreciate the time you spend reading my blog, and I hope that this change will help to improve your experience.
